I WILL TELL OF THE HUNT Gathering
in their lodges, around a warm fire, the warriors relive their excitement
of the hunt as they tell the women, children and old ones about that
day's adventures. Whose bow could shoot the swiftest arrows, what
horse ran the fastest, how brave were the young warriors, who missed
the buffalo; all these were retold over and over again. Every culture,
but most vividly the Native American, has the tradition of passing
on their stories of bravery and honor in war to the younger generations
as examples and role models for the future of the tribe, nation or
peoples. |
