14. SCENT ON THE WIND

Bill loves to be in the wilderness and observe the elk, deer, antelope or any of the other wildlife he can find. He always has binoculars, or a spotting scope, and a camera when he is driving to a ranch for roundup. Sometimes, we as a family go out on a scouting trip for the upcoming hunting season, and are fortunate enough to see some beautiful animals. Here is a scene Bill has observed many times. An elk has been moving quietly through the forest unaware of any human intruders when suddenly he looks up because a strange scent has floated across the wind.
