   Cow dogs are often the best asset and

   friend a rancher or cowboy has.  Like

   their working partner, the cowboy, these

   cow dogs do a tough, physically demanding

   dirty job which is accomplished either in

   hot and dusty, or freezing wet conditions. 

   Bill has worked spring and fall gatherings

   and brandings on ranches where the

   foreman used several different breeds

   of cow dog to get the work done.  One

   of the most beautiful sights to behold

   is a well trained dog working cattle out

   on a hillside or high desert pasture.
