87.
WATCHIN' FOR THE LONG KNIVES As the Whitemen's farms, town, railroads and telegraphs pushed ever westward, the U.S. Cavalry followed close behind. Soldiers were protection for the settlers against raids and ambushes by the tribes forced off the lands of their ancestors. With the morning sun rising above a high redrock ridge, this proud Apache waits for the horse soldiers being sent from a nearby fort. The "Long Knives", as he refers to the soldiers, hope to capture this ghostly guerrilla, and return him to the reservation, but he has different plans.
