Cowboys often have several pairs of boots.  Some are old beat up ones used to muck out corrals and do dirty work.  Others are his favorite ones to use breaking a new young colt.  Then if he has worked and saved his pay, he's been able to afford a brand new pair of Paul Bond custom made boots with green high tops, fancy stitching with high underslung heals.  He will wear these boots to town dancing at The Palace Saloon.  Just like the specialized work the cowboy does, these boots are "worth every penny".
